Lesson 2 – Down the Rabbit-hole

The lesson starts with an exciting spelling challenge. Then, we will read the first chapter of the novel and list all the main actions in that chapter. We will then watch an extract of  the cartoon Alice in Wonderland (1951) and comment the scene when Alice is falling down. In paris, the students will compare two pictures, one from the cartoon (1951) and one from the film (2010). We will then write a structured paragraph to compare the three versions of that first chapter, in the novel, in the film and in the cartoon. As a plenary, the students will be asked to describe their own opening scene and what their description of the rabbit-hole would look like.
